Bismarck Parks and Recreation District facilities generally meet accessibility requirements. The Park Board has approved an ADA Transition Plan focused on improving access across the park district whenever possible. Here are a few highlights of accessible features at BPRD:

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. BPRD’s website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1, Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
BPRD is required to meet digital accessibility standards by April 26, 2027, under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and is actively working to meet these ADA standards.
