Youth Basketball Boys’ Grades 5 – Fall

Boys’ youth basketball is a recreational program that teaches the fundamentals, skills, and sportsmanship of the game. These basics include passing, dribbling, shooting, and teamwork. Participants will learn through drills, scrimmages, and games. Win/loss records are not kept. Our emphasis is on equal play time, and most of all, FUN!

Program Dates

  • November 3, 2025-January 17, 2026
  • Jamboree: January 16-17

Locations and Schedules

  • One-hour practices are twice per week Mondays through Fridays at schools.
  • Practice times are determined by gym availability.
  • Games are generally played at schools on Saturdays between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
  • Important dates:
    • October 29: first-week practice schedule posted by 5:00pm
    • Week of November 12: game schedules posted
    • November 22: FREE basketball clinic

Need to Know

  • Teams will be formed after the first week of practice, and a schedule will be provided for the remainder of the season. Teams are organized by school if possible with up to 13 players per team (schools may be combined).
  • Jewelry is not allowed, nor is taping of earrings. Exceptions are medical bracelets or medical necklaces taped to the chest inside of shirts.
  • Wear shorts or sweats and non-marking tennis shoes and bring a water bottle.
  • Coaches need help setting up chairs, keeping score, and cleaning up after games.

Registration and Fees

  • $85 per player – if received on or before October 17
  • $95 per player – if received October 18 or later

Participants must register for the elementary school they attend (Bismarck Public Schools, Martin Luther, and Shiloh). Light of Christ students must register directly through their LOC school.
