Built in 1986, Rink #1 opened in the VFW All Seasons Arena. It remains Bismarck’s premier hockey competition rink and is home to the Bismarck Bobcats junior hockey team, along with high school and youth hockey and figure skating. The curling rink opened the same year. Rink #2 was added to the facility in 1999, along with ice and golf enhancements. The facility was renamed the VFW Sports Center. In 2024, Bismarck Parks and Recreation District celebrated the expanded and renovated VFW Sports Center with its partners, Raise the Rink campaign supporters, and the community.
