JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB INFORMATION

  • Classification: Part-time hourly
  • Pay Range: Pay is determined on an annual basis by the Board of Park Commissioners
  • Supervisor: Works under the general and detailed supervision of the Facility Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

Perform front desk and customer service duties at the CRFC and all of the activities while implementing all policies and procedures of the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD).

JOB DUTIES AND TASKS

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the individual within this classification. Essential Functions

  • Actively greet customers as they enter and leave the facility.
  • Complete point of sale, membership, and registration transactions via ActiveNet software. Transactions include memberships, registrations, court rentals, facility day passes, pro shop merchandise, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized entrance, front desk, and lobby.
  • Light cleaning duties as time allows, including cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, wiping windows, disinfecting surfaces, etc.
  • Launder and fold towels for customers’ daily use.
  • Follow the daily schedule listed at the front desk to best serve customers.
  • Communicate weekly with your supervisor in regard to scheduling, tasks, and customer inquiries.
  • Test tot tub water at least one time during each shift and report irregularities immediately to supervisors.
  • Maintain records and reports relating to activities at the facility.
  • Assist with set-up and tear down for facility programs and events.
  • Follow all BPRD safety policies and procedures outlined in the Risk Management Handbook.
  • Complete all necessary payroll forms and utilize the electronic time and attendance timekeeping system.
  • Understand and follow the standard operating procedures outlined in the employee manual.
  • Understand and follow the Human Resource Policy and Procedure Handbook items related to this position.

Other Duties and Tasks

  • Inform supervisor prior to running out of supplies.
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with facility staff, groups, associations, agencies and individuals.
  • Arrive at scheduled time and be ready to work. Absences must have prior approval by the supervisor.
  • Responsible for personal neatness, attire, and communicating repair needs and job site neatness.
  • Perform a variety of tasks that range from skilled to unskilled work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Age 16 or older.
  • Must maintain a fitness level acceptable to perform the skills required of the position.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds alone or heavier with other employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is primarily indoors, but must be able to work in all weather conditions (for example shoveling snow).
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Employee is required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays on a rotating or as needed basis, including staff meetings. Work may involve close supervision.
  • Public contact is frequent.
