Open Gym

Open Gym Program

The Open Gym program provides an opportunity for youth and adults to use school gyms in a supervised, free play situation. The program is provided by Bismarck Parks and Recreation District with Bismarck Public Schools.

  • November 1, 2025-March 8, 2026
  • Exceptions (Dates Closed)
    • Wachter Middle School: December 28, January 18, January 25, and February 1
    • Simle Middle School: December 28, January 3, and February 1
    • Horizon Middle School: December 28, January 3, and January 18
    • Solheim Elementary School: January 3-4

Need to Know

  • FREE for all ages
  • Basketball pick-up games may be played at Horizon and Simle.
  • Schedule subject to change.

World War Memorial Building

Gyms are open year-round, including during the Open Gym program. Check the WWMB schedule for availability.

Court Reservations

  • BPRD registered volleyball teams can reserve one hour of practice time from 1:00-4:00pm on Sundays at WWMB during the Open Gym program. To reserve a court, call 701-222-6454 from 8:30am-5:00pm on Friday before Sunday play.
  • Youth travel teams interested in reserving gym space during non-Open Gym hours must contact the schools or WWMB.
